Privacy Policy

CanYouSell ("we", "us") provides an AI sales assessment platform at canyousell.xyz. Hiring teams use it to evaluate sales candidates through short, recorded voice calls with an AI buyer. This policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it, for both hiring teams ("customers") and candidates who complete assessments. We may update this policy from time to time; the date above always reflects the current version.

Information we collect

• Customer accounts. Your name, email address, and profile details, collected through our authentication provider, Clerk. If you sign in with Google, GitHub, or X, we receive basic profile information from that provider.
• Company and team data. Company details, assessment configurations (product briefs, buyer personas, objections, scoring rules), and the email addresses of teammates you invite.
• Candidate identity. A candidate's name and email address, verified with a one-time code before the assessment starts.
• Assessment data. Each attempt produces a voice recording of the call, a transcript, call metrics, AI-generated scores and feedback, and a hiring recommendation. Hiring teams can also add internal notes, tags, and shortlist decisions about candidates.
• Billing and usage. Your plan, subscription status, and usage counts. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments; we do not store full payment card details. We also collect standard log data and use only the essential cookies needed to keep you signed in.

How we use information

• To run assessments: conduct the AI voice call, record and transcribe it, and generate scores and feedback for the inviting company.
• To send transactional email such as invitations, verification codes, and account notices (via Resend).
• To operate subscriptions, enforce plan limits, and process payments.
• To secure, maintain, and improve the platform, including aggregated, de-identified statistics such as the platform-wide average score shown next to results. These statistics never identify a person or company.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use candidate recordings to train our own AI models.

AI processing

Assessment calls are conducted with an AI buyer and analyzed using OpenAI's services. Call audio and transcripts are sent to OpenAI to hold the conversation and to generate scores, feedback, and hiring recommendations. AI output is advisory: it can contain errors, and hiring teams are told to use it as one input among several, never as the sole basis for a hiring decision.

Candidates: who sees your data

If you complete an assessment, your recording, transcript, scores, and AI feedback are shared with the company that published the assessment link, because they are the ones evaluating your application. Depending on that company's settings, you may also see your own score and feedback after each attempt. Where multiple attempts are allowed, your best score is the one shared with the company. The company controls how results are used in its hiring process; questions about that are best directed to them, and we will help where we can.

Service providers

We share data only with the vendors that help us run the platform: Clerk (authentication), OpenAI (voice AI and analysis), Resend (email), Dodo Payments (billing), and our cloud hosting and database providers. Each processes data only as needed to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Retention, deletion, and your rights

We keep account and assessment data for as long as the associated customer account is active or as needed to provide the service. Hiring teams can request deletion of candidate data from their workspace, and candidates can contact us directly to access or delete their personal data. We will verify your identity and respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Security

We protect data with encryption in transit, access controls, tokenized assessment links, and email verification for candidates. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
